Once one becomes a US citizen, an American Muslim is obligated to respect the law of US and remain loyal. If there are wrong laws or inequality within the system one has lot of recourses working within the boundaries of law. But no citizen should take the law in ones own hands and definitely cannot and should not fight against US FORCES. American Muslims DO NOT have the right to fight US forces anywhere. There is not a single reported case of Muslims in Mecca being told to wage a jihad. Another interesting dimension, is that Surah Anaam states: "Surely those who believed and fled (their homes) and struggled hard in Allah's way with their property and their souls, and those who gave shelter and helped-- these are guardians of each other; and (as for) those who believed and did not fly, not yours is their guardianship until they fly; AND IF THEY SEEK AID FROM YOU IN THE MATTER OF RELIGION, aid is incumbent on you except against a people BETWEEN WHOM AND YOU THERE IS A TREATY, and Allah sees what you do." A Muslim state is only responsible for it's own citizens, unless of course Muslims within another country are being persecuted and the Muslims of that nation themselves REQUEST ASSISTANCE. The Quran makes a clear exception to this rule and that is, if the Muslim nation has a treaty with that non-Muslim nation, then the Muslim nation is not bound in any way to help those Muslims, who are predicated to flee, or as the Quran states, "the earth is vast". While this verse doesn't clearly indicate the solution, it clearly shows that war is a predicate of, in modern terminology, a state. It is not the job of renegade individuals. The principle behind this is that a people have to show themselves capable of establishing a better system, before attempting to fight an existing one.
